Potential risk to skin health: Is it unhygienic to leave soap on a loofah/not give it a thorough rinse after use?
Post Body

Gf noticed me not rinse my soap-covered loofah after showing with it and was like “wtf!?”. Told me that I’m leaving bacteria or etc on it that is unsanitary and can cause issues with my skin. I always used a ton of soap with my loofah’s and always assumed the excess soap sterilized it/killed anything that attempted to grow on it after use. I rinse it quickly before applying soap in subsequent uses and never thought much of it.

Am in an idiot/is she likely correct?
