In this case let's say Hitler also made the wise decision of not declaring war on the U.S. when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor; given the extra time to prepare, how well would Germany have done if things got rolling at a much later date, and would the Soviets have finally taken heed and become much better prepared themselves?
