Longtime Denzel Fan
Post Body

Denzelā€™s always been that dude for me since I grew up in the FL area, so him, pouya, fat nick, robb banks. that whole ā€œsoundcloudā€ era (even though denzel was far from that, 32 Zel fell under that category)

Imperial always been a top ten ā€œmodernā€ rap album to me. itā€™s amazing, haunting, catchy, its all the above. i remember seeing him in concert in st. pete for that tour alongside Allan kingdom JK the reaper, S dot brady. a whole bunch of (now) nobodies.

I digress.

Anyways longtime denzel fan, have always appreciated his different approach to hip-hop and all the experimental shit heā€™s done.

But not all of it sat well with me, or that i personally could find replay value from.

Idk man, TA13OO just didnt do it for me, iā€™ve tried multiple times to really get into it, i liked clout cobain, was excited for the project but idk it just wasnt for me in a weird way cause most times i like the experimental shit but idk this one doesnt do it for me.

but ya know he blew up a bit and got a little hype from the ā€œUltimateā€ hype train of bottle flip edit videos, but i think since he got into a more ā€œmainstreamā€ light, and getting these tracks with madden, its cool its dope im glad heā€™s getting recognition anyone who grinds their ass off deserveā€™s it. but there was a pocket, especially noteable (to me) that he sounded super modern. Zuu sounded cool for a bit, sounded like madden music.

unlocked was interesting for me and i had it in loop for a bit but it is kinda a lot and comes at ya fast often and im not that devoted.

but let me tell you.

this album, Melt My Eyez See Your Future

is absolutely insane to me. this shit is the denzel that i fucked with heavy in Imperial.

this shit sounds super similair (vibe/production wise almost) that Vince Staples recently took on his Self titled EP he released last year, lofi/jazz/chill beats with bars layed over. man made me hype for a tpain feature. they killed it. the first half of the album is so great, the turn of the one 6lack JID song still sounds ā€œMaddenā€ to me and doesnt fit the vibe to the rest of the album to me. but this shit is amazing, its already got me looking for the vinyl in different colored record for this shit. def gonna be in my summer album rotation this year. thank you denzel for coming THRU with this heat man, this shit is impeccable.
