History of Denver Paramedics?

I finally had a chance to get a look at the small circular insignia Denver Paramedics have on most of their rigs, and it suggest they've been around since the early 1900's or late 1800's (I couldn't read much of the text, but thought it said something about 100 years). Anyway, I can't find zero information on the history of the Denver Paramedics division online. Does anyone know of any sources and/or photos of early Denver Paramedics ambulances?
