So I havent experienced anything like this before and need some input from the community.. this is in the usa
I thought i saw one of my inlays crack off and wanted to get it checked and went to a dentist I visited some time ago which was covered by my insurance
They said its a large cavity and needs a root canal and a crown - i was not hurting at all at this point (so i dont even know if i really needed one) but i asked if it makes sense to do a onlay instead and the doctor said no, its too close to the nerves? so i said ok... they requested i pay the full amount befoer the procedure which i obliged..
then they start doing the work and they say they cant finish the job because a machine wasnt working........? and so they ask me to go to a different 'branch' of their network and and to come back after the root canal to finish the crown (they are not in network for insurance)
now i get to the other place and they finish the root canal and then they tell me to come back in a few weeks for the crown. now i don't care where i get things done, but they say that they will get all the money from the other branch.
now i log into my dental insurance and they made a claim which is out of network and being reviewed what my portion will be (i guess this branch is not in-network)
so my question is what should i expect and what is actually my liability? should i lock my credit card just in case?
