I haven't been to a dentist since I was 16 (now 26) because filling cavities was and still is the worst pain I have ever experienced. I've had broken fingers and been in a fairly serious car accident and only one thing has come close, but it was a procedure over in seconds and not 20 minutes.
The numbing shots only ever numbed my lips and the dentist ignored me when I told him how much it hurt. It's possible I've only been to bad dentists in a rush, or is that just the norm? I really should go again, but I just don't want to go through that again. I guess nitrous might be an option to help deal with it.
