Sore Swollen Gum and Lower Jaw

The title kind of says it all.
Had a check up a couple days back and my dentist said other than the discoloration my teeth are doing great. 2 days later and my back molar feels funny then the gum swelling and jaw pain started. Tooth itself feels fine!
What's going on?
