I just can't figure out how to get myself to floss. A floss pick does help. But I only seem to floss the month before my 6 month checkup—I make the habit and then break it right after the appointment. I wasn't encouraged/taught to floss as a kid because I had lots of space between my teeth before braces.
I find flossing very unpleasant, and I suspect it's because my Autism Spectrum Disorder gives me some sensory issues. It is somewhat less unpleasant when my gums are in better shape, but it's the sensation of opening my mouth really wide and putting my hands inside my mouth that bothers me most.
Wondering if you've come across any particular strategies to help with this, or if it's just something to tackle by continuing to try. Thanks!
