Are demons just part of our subconscious mind?

I had this realisation as i was meditating with Lucifer last night doing some really really intense shadow work and he mentioned something which hit me. That specific thing that he mentioned i remembered reading about it months ago(?).
While i believe that they are their own beings but a part of me can’t shake the feelings that they are also a part of us? Like as though we all (be it demons, deities or humans etc) are connected someway
