What is the difference between Social Democracy and Democratic Socialism, is one not just a slightly further left version, or a slightly more centrist version of what it is?
Democratic socialism is also distinguished from Third Way social democracy because democratic socialists are committed to the systemic transformation of the economy from capitalism to socialism, while social democrats use capitalism to create a strong welfare state, leaving many businesses under private ownership?
My understanding is that social democrats want to reform capitalism to make it actually work for all the people, whereas democratic socialism gets rid of capitalism completely.
