You might find this amusing, I made a parody of "Is this the way to Amarillo?" called "Pave the Way for the King in Yellow." It could be used anywhere, I'm using it in Act 3 when the night world is bleeding into the "real" world.
Pave the Way for the King in Yellow by Richard Clare
(to the tune of "Is this the Way to Amarillo?" by Tony Christie)
Sha la la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la
A black star is dawning
On a Yhtill Sunday Morning
How I long to be there
With Abbie who's waiting there
Every lonely city
Where I hang my hat
Ain't as half as pretty
As where my baby's at
Pave the way for the King in Yellow
I'm screaming into my pillow
Having nightmares of Carcosa
And Abbie who waits for me
Pave the way for the King in Yellow
He's a hale and well-met fellow
Bow before the King in Yellow
And sweet Abbie who waits for me
Sha la la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la
Abbie who waits for me
There's a church bell ringing
Hear the song of dread that its singing
For the sweet Abigail
And the guy who's face is strangely pale
Just beyond the doorway
Next door to Lake Hali
There's a dance and I'm going,
am I going insane?
Pave the way for the King in Yellow
Every night screaming into my pillow
Having nightmares of Carcosa
And Abbie who waits for me
Pave the way for the King in Yellow
Well he's a hale and well-met fellow
Bow before the King in Yellow and sweet Abbie who waits for me
Sha la la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la
Sha la la la la la la la
Abbie who waits for me x3
