The TTK does not suit the game.
Winning and losing fights feels like pure chance. I've won fights where I did everything wrong and I've lost fights where I did everything right.
I have died more in this game than I ever have in Tarkov and that is saying something.
Grey ammo should do next-to-no damage to a purple vest or helm. Right now it only takes a few more shots with worse ammo to kill someone. Similarly, blue ammo should do not-much damage to purple and gold.
If I shoot someone in the face, they should die. This would automatically give me a reason to bring pistols in, because right now, there isn't one. The helmets should absolutely still protect you. But if I shoot someone where the helmet isn't covering, then they should die. This would make it so that you can still win with grey ammo against someone that has purple armour if you just aim for their face. (If the ammo system was changed so that grey ammo does barely any damage to blue armour).
People argue that you can 1v3 because the TTK is so fast. But it's gonna be much easier to 1v3 if you can 1-tap someone. Which you currently can't. Wearing armour above purple is largely meaningless because it just doesn't protect enough for the cost and it only decreases the TTK by tenths of a second. This is dumb.
I've resorted to pretty much exclusively doing kinfe runs because I can pick up a green vest helm pretty easily, and it doesn't seem like there's enough of a difference between blue and green, so it makes much more sense to go in and only be able to make profit than it does to bring a 150k loadout which you can lose in the first 2 mins of the match because you got beamed by someone you didn't see.
The TTK should be as close to tarkov as possible. It's not going to make anything more complex for casual gamers. If you are low, you heal. If you are injured, you heal. Aiming for head = do more damage. It wouldn't change anything for players that don't know about the change (aside from 1-taps) and it'd make it so much better.
One of the very few things Tarkov does well is the damage system. This game should copy it completely. It will still be casual. It will still be accessible. All this change would do is make bringing in high-tier gear actually worthwhile, which means you'll also be happier if you get someone's full-purple loadout.
I shouldn't be spending 1million on a purple kit and then still dying in less than half a second to someond with green or blue ammo. (If my suggestion is implemented, you can still die in that time-frame via being 1-tapped, but that takes a loottttt more skill and some helmets don't show any face at all.
It does not make sense, that with extremely expensive gear, I can spend 20 mins in a game finding loot, and then just before I'm about to exfil with all my stuff, I get killed in half a second by a green-ammo guy in the corner. This has happened to me with the purple riot-shield helmet purple armour.
Also. Since helmets are ineffective relative to their price, the fov reductions are just like 🙂.
This NEEDS to be changed ASAP for the future health of the game.
