Best way to connect to Dell laptop 9510 to monitor?

I have the 9510 model ( I7, 16RAM, 3050ti) and also a .Dell 144hz monitor with HDMI and display port inputs.

I don't like the dongle that my laptop provides to connect them ( currently using that connected to HDMI to monitor) because I think it doesn't give great performance.

What is better to connect them? A display port ( TB/ Type C to DP) or a HDMI ( TB/Type C to HDMI ) to my monitor?

Just wondering is the best output is ? I just got into gaming again and just want to see screen performance. Any advice would be great!

Edit: My laptop screen is 60 hz btw!
