Hi, I'm having trouble using the microphone on my headset (Astro A10's). I'm using a Dell Inspiron 5491 2n1, and running Windows 11.
I know some people have had issues like this before, but mine seems unique with how stubborn it is. I've tried:
Reinstalling the Realtek Audio driver from the Dell website
Going into WaveMaxxAudio or whatever it's called and making sure "headset" is selected
In the "Recording" tab of Control Panel's Sound settings, whenever I plug in my headset it shows something called "Jack Mic" with the Realtek subheading. Previously, it said that the Jack Mic was not plugged in, but after using WaveMaxxAudio to select "headset" as suggested in other posts it successfully recognised it and switched to it as the default, green tick and all.
The issue is it still doesn't absorb any sound. I know it isn't an issue with the headphones since I tested it with an unopened Astro A10 I had laying around and it still didn't work. I've also dug through all the settings and made sure that no privacy or battery settings are interfering.
The output component of the headset (i.e. the headphones) works perfectly fine, it's just that the microphone refuses to take in any audio whatsoever. Maybe relevant, I've noticed that when testing the microphone it seems to show a quick flash of sound on the VU meter if I turn it on and off, but then doesn't change at all.
Because of this I have just been using the built in microphone, which is obviously kinda bad and defeats the point of a headset. If anyone knows why my mic seems to be so stubborn it would be greatly appreciated.
