Hi everyone,
my dad bought his old office-pc for a very low price but since it's still an okay-ish PC (except for the RAM) he asked me to get it to run Win10. After installing Win10 home, the PC was really laggy (4GB RAM, who would have thought that??) and thats when I decided to upgrade it.
Since the thing only had 4GB (2x2GB) RAM I looked it up on the webs and there I was told I could upgrade it to 2x8GB. After installing it, I ran the BIOS-diagnostics-tool and the RAM seemed to be okay and the system diagnosis showed 16GB RAM all ready for who knows what.
I then took my trusty Win10 bootstick and tried to install it again. BIOS booted no problem, smooth and quick as you would expect an i7/16GB device. But as soon as it enteres Win-Boot I got a bluescreen and then it got stuck in a bootloop.
After googling the error message I put back in the 4GB and updated the BIOS and chipset to the current available version (BIOS A17 and who knows what version the Chipset is...) and tried to reinstall the 16gig.
And again a bluescreen at Win-Boot. This time with a different error message. Just as the next 5 tries. Every time a different error message on the bluescreen. I counted 7 different messages so far and stopped trying to get the device to run.
Can anyone help please? Is this a Windows problem or is it a device problem? Any ideas are welcome.
The thingy is a quite okay-ish device for a cheap price that would last long for the purposes of my dad and tbh he kind of built up emotional bonds to the laptop since he worked many years on it so I would really love to get it running for him...
