Post Body

My brand new XPS 15 with 32gigs of RAM and 1TB hard drive is starting to have bigger and bigger issues. Incredibly frustrating given I dropped almost 3 grand on it.

1) when it powers on, the hourglass next to the mouse flashes for about 30 seconds while the computer is incredibly slow. Plus a ā€œpop upā€ window flashes on power up in the middle of the screen. Itā€™s too fast to see any content and disappears quickly. But I donā€™t see why this should be happening.

2) the trackpad has started to occasionally stick down so I canā€™t unselect things, and it will also randomly stop working for a few minutes. I was aware of the issues reported with a ā€œlooseā€ trackpad when I purchased the device, however I havenā€™t had that particular issue.

3) Iā€™m not sure if itā€™s how loud the fan is, or a faulty mic, but the only two times Iā€™ve used to device for professional zoom calls Iā€™ve been told I sound like a robot halfway through. Not exactly what you want when your job currently revolves around zoom calls.

Overall Iā€™m very disappointed in the quality of this device and am thinking about contacting Dell and trying to possibly exchange it for a new one. The only issue is that I am starting my second year of grad school in 2 weeks and NEED a powerful device for my thesis data collection. If I send it back I wonā€™t be able to do the analysis I need to. So Iā€™m screwed either way.

Has anyone else had these issues? And if so, how did you resolve them?
