Ah sure, we had Aubrey/Drake play a dude in a wheelchair after gettin shot - much to the chagrin of Drake himself allegedly but here's the thing
Degrassi has had and could have had more actors whom are actually living with disabilities. In the 80's it was Maya Goldberg whose character lived with Spina Bifida (the disability I was also born with) and Kyra Levy who played Maya was born with a condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease - similar to muscular dystrophy I think though willing to be corrected on that.
Then a post earlier here reminded me of Mony Yassir. She was also a disabled person but unfortunately the writers didn't extend her character very much
All this to say that in the average public high school that is actually accessible there are usually more than one visibly disabled person attending at any given time. Therefore there absolutely could have and should have been more physically disabled actors as prominent characters on Degrassi. I'll give the show this however they did pretty well a couple times with the writing in of less visible health conditions, so credit where it's due. Anyway, that's my rant inspired by the post with Mony Yassir in it.
