Now I found this alleged fact out from a YouTube video. The video mentioned that this tidbit came from The Marvel Studios: First Ten Years Anniversary” sourcebook (I don’t have the book so I can’t verify it) and it basically states that Kevin Feige wanted to create movies for Luke Cage and Iron Fist under Marvel Studios for Phase 1 before they were projects for Marvel Television.

Originally the scripts were being worked on during the first few years of the MCU, specifically over the times that both Iron Man and Iron Man 2 were in production and had hopes that these projects would make it into Phase 1. This however would change when the rights of Daredevil reverted back to Marvel from Fox. Since Marvel Television/Entertainment and Marvel Studios were two separate entities, Marvel Television nabbed the rights to Daredevil before Marvel Studios did.

In addition to that since the Luke Cage and Iron Fist project weren’t technically green-lit (from what I’ve heard they were almost in pre-production) Marvel TV also took Luke Cage and Iron Fist as well, right underneath Marvel Studios noses. Marvel Studios was kind of backed into a corner since they didn’t want to make rivalling projects with same damn characters so Marvel Studios just backed down and killed any chance of these movies furthering into development.

If this is true (like I said I don’t have the book so I cannot verify so if anyone can that’d be cool) how do you guys think this would’ve impacted the MCU (both shows and movies) if these projects wound up being made for Phase 1? Can you see Iron Fist and Luke Cage actually being considered to be apart of the OG Avengers or even phase 2 if these movies came out after Avengers 1?
