I've been going to defcon on and off for almost 20 years. I know there's a lot of people whining about "it's not the same....!".
This is not that.
Its just not enjoyable anymore, if it ever was. Walking and standing in lines, isn't cute anymore. The often quoted advice to noobs is not very useful. Just ask about their badges! Join a session and learn something! Most of the content flies over the heads of most of the attendees. A lot of the younger crowd hasn't used a shell account or know much about electronics. Everything looks cool, but it might as well be written in martian.
So the result? An excuse to drink or waste a lot of time and money and be surrounded by mostly introverts being awkward and lonely. 🤷🏻♂️
