Some context in case anyone gets lost.
I have been learning about Slavoj Zizek who is a psychoanalytic philosopher. He has this theory about ideologies, in particular Capitalism, that he claims is something that has evolved into what Karl Marx deemed as commodity fetishism. It's the obsession created over material goods that inevitably become part of our identity and give them this power over our individual and social identities.
An example of this would be when years ago there was this controversy over Chik fil A who outed themselves to be for traditional marriage and people demonized them for not being progressive. Then came along Oreo who posted their rainbow filling Oreo cookies and people started praising them for being progressive.
The point of all this is that it shows that people have relied on corporations to perpetuate their own ideologies to the corporate world and would in turn lead to financially contributing further to those corporations. This cycle will then show that capitalism no longer becomes just an economic strategy but now becomes a state of mind and is engrained in our way of living from day to day.
