So Iâll have to provide some context. Iâd joined a Haz3 refinery mission on Sandblasted corridors. 2 greenbeards (driller and gunner (host)) alongside a more experienced Engi (Lv 147).
So things were going smoothly until a big meteor drops. Engi says we should leave it til we finish the refinery main mission. I inform the team that the swarm wouldnât stop after the pipes begin their work, until the pod comes in. Engi âcorrectsâ me, stating that the swarm only begins after we hit the escape pod button. We had a little disagreement, and I was tempted to press my point.
However, like my old teacher always says, let them try and theyâll learn. So I let them proceed, we finish pipe, engi gloats me in the 5 second window where there isnât any bugs (âso what about that infinite swarmâ), before we proceeded to non-stop fight setting up rockcrackers for the meteor with rest of the team going down several times.
Ultimately hosts makes the call to just get the pod, I rescue the 2 greenbeards and we make it to the pod, and in a ironic twist of fate the engi trips up and goes down. Gunner jumps out to try save him with only 10 seconds left and gets left behind (I respect the intent, but he was too far away).
Engi calls me hacking and what not before leaving the party, which is sad to see, but at least the greenbeards learned something.
So anyways one of the main things I just wanted to share, which youâre free to disagree with, is sometimes just let the greenbeards try, even if you know it might end badly. And when they fail, they learn. And also it lets you flex your greybeard skills to dig them out of a hairy situation.
Rock and stone miners. Rock and stone.
