Hi all - since I’ve been active on this sub recently, I’d like to provide a trip report. It was me and two friends (first timers).
Arrived at the trail head around 3pm - beautiful day! Intercepted some other redditors on the way down (hello!). Lots of people were making the return trip as we were descending. Some ascenders didn’t seem prepared for the conditions. We made it to the springs around 345.
We soaked in the Arizona pool, and upper pool as the day turned to night. We had each spring to ourselves essentially- it was really nice. Super quiet and chill. Only unanticipated issue was mosquitos. Spent around 3hrs in the area. Otherwise, conditions and vibes were excellent.
Ended up leaving around 7pm when it was essentially dark. We had headlamps of course, but it was my first time going back in the dark. Although I’m familiar with the trail, it looks very different in the dark. It was a bit spooky albeit very beautiful at the same time. Made it back to the car in one piece.
Overall, it was one of the better trips in recent memories. I’m an office drone so I’m generally limited to weekends off. Going at a later time is an excellent way to avoid crowds/kids.
