Trip review 6/4
Post Body

So I went for the second time on 6/4. I got on the trail about 930am. I ok refer to go during the week as the crowds on weekend seem a little too much for me. Being new to nudism, my hope was to be around other like minded people. It was getting warm already so I parked at Bowen ranch and paid my 10 bucks. I striped down a sun screened up and off I went.

35 mins in and I didn’t see anyone on the way in. It was a beautiful walk to say the least. I saw one or two folks already there. One was down stream past the hot springs and the other was laying in a ledge over looking the roped crossing. One was nude the other wasn’t. So I made my crossing in just above waste hi water and the temp was perfect. I only had an hour or two that I could enjoy the springs and have to leave.

As the morning turn into afternoon more folks started to show up. I really didn’t mingle with many. I just wanted to respect their privacy. I could help but notice everyone that came in after me was fully clothed or in a swimsuit. Most were women out for a hike. Being new to nudism, it’s always a little awkward when I found I was one of like 7 people present that was nude. I am always cognizant of the fact that textiles folks often times get a creeper vibe when it’s a single male but not so much when your with ladies. I can understand to some degree. I tend to let them engage if they want to. If not I just relax and do my own thing. With everyone being clothed, I felt the need to put my swim trucks on in order to make them more comfortable. Idk. I always thought that this space was known to be friendly to nudist. Maybe it was just me but it just felt awkward being the only one. So I put my swimsuit on and everyone just seemed to be more friendly. I just didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable.

Does anyone else have this experience?

Some PCT hikers (male) came through and they didn’t appear to even bat an eyelash at me. Super friendly. Maybe in the hiker community it’s more acceptable?

I remained in my swimsuit and shared a few beers I had with some PCT guys and went on my way back.

By this time is was really warm. I waited to hike up the hill and stripped my suit off. Honestly is was just so much more comfortable than hiking in a wet suit. The Vitamin D dose definitely helped out as well. I didn’t see anyone on the way back. Beautiful day. I would sure like to meet others that want to hike. I am a happily married man. I am exploring the non sexual side of naturism indeed. I would like to hear about if any others have a similar experience?

For the textile folks, what is your take on experience with nudist at DCHS? Is it positive or would you prefer not to interface with nudist? Are you indifferent? In the end , I just want everyone to enjoy their time. None of us really get enough outdoor tim. I just want to be respectful of that.
