"The Ruffo will pay for this!" Pine shouted at the council meeting. It was a popular sentiment in the city of Reem after the massacre of several children at the hands of the Ruffo. The elders of the city called a joint meeting of the elders and their first born children. Removing the wool barrier set up between the front meeting room and the back meeting room in the Reem Longhouse to accommodate this larger meeting.
Pine was selected to deal with the Ruffo. Being livid at the them for even thinking they could attack Reem, he was put in charge of the counter-attack. Their was a debate on what exactly the Tupai should do the the Ruffo, but it was finally decided that the ensure that the Ruffo would learn to never mess with the Tupai again, they would enslave them. But Reem didn't need any more servants, so the elders decided they would bring men from Rrot to teach the slaves to farm.
Capturing 34 women and children weren't hard for the spear-wielding Tupai, getting them to farm was harder. Pine's family was also put in charge of running the plantation, a small walled off area of farmland connected to the main wall of Reem with a small house in it for the slaves to live in.
Teaching them was hard, slow work. Luckily, several devices finally got the Ruffo slaves to submit. The most common tool was a whip evolving from a flexible stick to what they soon used to keep the slaves in line. The walls of the plantation and of the city were also improved, adding watchtowers(simple platforms attached to the inside of the wall to allow one to see over it) and a small ditch outside of the wall to extend its height.
Soon the Ruffo tried to attack and take back their clainsmen
