I currently have a 12x12 treated deck. We’ve been in the house 5 years and the deck looks terrible. I’m thinking about adding a 16x16 extension and redecking the current deck, both in cedar as composite is pretty cost prohibitive. I’m concerned about being able to keep the cedar looking good. I cook on the deck with my grill and griddle, leading to inevitable grease splatter no matter how careful I am to try to avoid it. Is there anything that I could put on the cedar to keep it looking good and maybe keep the little grease that gets on it from sinking in so it can be wiped off?
