Is The 48 Laws of Power worth reading, or is it mostly manosphere “pickup” bullshit?

Post Body

I’ve seen this book circulating around a lot on self help threads. I like reading and I consider myself to be a spiritual person. I’ve fallen down several intellectual rabbit holes but I have the self-awareness to pull myself out before it gets bad.

How I measure my life is also very different now that I’m 25. I care much less about friends (don’t have much of those anymore anyway) and what people think of me, but I constantly worry about never being able to be successful or never achieving my dream.

Ultimately I want to live life actively helping and providing community and shelter. I don’t want to “dominate” or try to exploit others for my own personal gain. I just want attention and to be respected, because even though I don’t feel like it, I probably deserve at least that, right? I just want to be known for providing positive change or influence upon the world in some way

Does this book provide any of that? I’ve seen it a lot in high school but my intentions were different back then. I also don’t see the greatest people promoting it
