My wife and I have gotten ourself into quite a whole. We have about 28k in cc debt. A 25k auto loan that was credit card debt and is now much lower interest. We are having trouble making the minimums each month and we are going to be struggling a bit more here in the near future we fear. My wife is 7 months pregnant and was on state insurance up until about two weeks ago. We are now responsible for 25% of all medical bills based on the financial assistance we were approved for. We are in the midst of opening a heloc to refinance the auto loan and credit card that is on my credit. We don’t know what to do with all the debt on my wife’s credit. She is a SAHM so she doesn’t have income which makes it very hard to refinance her debt. We don’t want to destroy our credit but we also don’t want to be stuck in a cycle of work to pay bills with no extra money left over for savings, emergencies, entertainment, or any other financial surprises that arise. We feel like there is no end in site.
