how to tackle debt realistically
Post Body

I have $14,000 in credit card debt, on one card I have $12,600 on one card and $1,900 on a second card. I honestly feel like a terrible father and husband because I paid off me and my wife debt of 10,000 but then we had a baby and my checks got cut because I added them both in my insurance when my wife got dropped from hers very early in the year and it honestly feels like a hole I'm slowly digging for my self. I have made some dent in the debt on the 1,900$ card by using my GI bill payments but now I'm switching it over to the bigger card but I'm graduating soon so I'm hoping with my new career I'll be able to make more and work more over time to help me get this debt down so we can afford a home finally .

I am curious if yall recommend debt consolidation loans or personal loans just to get the amount off cards and get them all under one place so it looks better on my credit or just any advice would help. For back ground I make 59,000 annually and $4,576 monthly

If you go in the reserves you get tricare prime select or something like that I’ve had guys reenlist in different branches just to get tricare. I recommend looking at that. Plus in a lot of MOS’s you’re getting bonuses depending on the branch
