Disbelief is not rejection.

I have seen in more than one place where people who believe in Hell justify some version of eternal torment by saying that God is simply giving them what they want. Since they don’t believe, they are rejecting God and all the good things that God gives.
This line of reasoning needs to be rejected out of hand. Disbelief is rejecting a claim, not rejecting an entity.
I don’t believe in the Abrahamic god, but if it exists and is the source of all good things, I certainly don’t reject it personally.
Honest belief is not a choice, it is a natural reaction to evidence and reasoning. It isn’t personal.
Also, if it were personal, that still would not be justification for eternal torment.
