Mechanical engineer here that likes to base a lot of my findings about life using hard scientific facts. Brought up as a Roman Catholic but lost all faith after the death of my sister and mother. (These events showing there is no rhyme nor reason to life). After reading up on many religions and the dates that they were founded or dates of when they were practiced I realise that in 1000/2000 years whats to say that the future version of humanity will look back at the current religions and laugh like we do at the Egyptian, Roman Greek etc.... gods? For thousands of years many religions were practiced and believed by millions of different minds that did or did not affect their lives or outcomes in any way. Yet we are still here clinging on to a couple of religions still to this day thinking and fighting for what we believe is the right path. Religion to me is a set of rules to control the masses that enables hope and reasoning for existence. I agree that without some form of fear of karma/gods wrath then the first villagers or first ever settlements then they would have ran riot over each other without some form of rules. Interested to see everyones thoughts..
