I make 2 assumptions for my argument.
Nobody can be 100% certain on whether there is a God or not.
Nobody can be 100% certain out of all the Gods that are worshipped, which one actually exists.
Most people are religious because of their upbringing. Christians tend to be Christians because their families were Christian, same with Hindu, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, and any other religion you can think of.
People generally have no real reason outside of personal experience to change their faith, so anybody who doesn’t believe in the “correct” god is sent to hell for something that’s not entirely their choice.
If this is all true, what reason does God actually have for sending those who disbelieve to hell? Nobody would actively go against a God that they knew for certain existed, so to punish someone for making the wrong choice cannot possibly have a morally correct reason.
I’m singling out the Abrahamic God because I’m not entirely familiar with other religions and their view on heaven and hell, so I’m not going to bother with that.
