Mods delete if not allowed this is admittedly not a question about Marxist theory.
I was talking with my mother today over text and politics came up and I stated I'm a Marxist Leninist. She asked if Lenin was the one that did the Holodomor because we're Ukrainian. I told her that wasn't him and also that the Holodomor wasn't an intentional genocide and even though I worded myself very carefully I read it back to myself and I sound unhinged. Marxist ideas are so counter intuitive to most and defending socialist states when they've been told they're pure evil all their lives makes me sound like I'm a Holocaust denier or something. She also stated that I shouldn't post political things on social media or join parties or groups because I'm going to school to become a teacher and they might not hire me if they know I'm a Marxist. Will i actually get in trouble for being a Marxist? I'm probably on a fed list already but if I can't get a job I'm screwed
