So I killed Juliana, I killed myself, I saw the "Golden Loop" extra ending... and I'm still so confused.
I did some research and saw people are connecting the game to Dishonored? How? Also, how did Juliana just disappear when walking away from Colt?
I think there are so many unanswered questions. Why can only Colt, Julianna, Pick, and 2-Bit remember between loops? Why did Colt forget everything except the moment before his death at the beginning of the game? Why are there multiple people with multiple looks at multiple stages of the loop coexisting?
My best answer to the last one is a bit like the Wenjies, multiple timelines, multiple Colts. I think I would have preferred if we had to be the Colt that saved ourself at the beginning at some point, though. Multiple temporal concepts (time travel and multiple timelines) just makes things messy.
I think I got that the floating words were projections of his lost memories. And I would even buy that the words exist all the way up until the last conversation, assuming there have been many Colts that made it there and decided to save the loop.
But I can't figure out why. The ending was hyped up the whole game, like Juliana saying "the real fun begins" when he realizes he doesn't really want to break the loop, that while they've been there before it was "not like this", that there would be some reveal that might convince him to maintain the loop.
But the best argument I felt like was squandered in a radio conversation shortly before rakyetoplan. That there's no way of knowing what will happen if he succeeded - assuming it works, they could all just be dead, or the world could be gone. But then they get in the final conversation and she's just hoping that he won't kill her (again) to get the thing that she and all the words in his head and all his clones have told him, over and over: that he needs to break the loop.
It felt like they just couldn't come up with a good answer to all the questions they set up.
