So, having received deathloop for Christmas on PS5 it’s safe to say I love it. Being a massive fan of dishonoured, I’m not surprised. I’ve just finished my first playthrough and have decided to give PvP a try.
It’s a bit Grind-y at first and the matchmaking takes an age. However, I’ve noticed two distinct types of players when invading as Julianna.
The first are those who play in the spirit of the game, they try their best to achieve their goal, I try my best to stop them. I try to anticipate what Colt might be doing in this level and plan my traps accordingly. These matches are fun.
However, there are numerous occasions where I’ll be lying in wait in a trap (at hangar 2 in anticipation of Harriet’s execution for example) and after a little wait the other player quits, having achieved none of their goals . Ok, I suppose they may have IRL things to do. But the frequency of this leads me to believe that these players are looking for a PvP experience but without all the hassle of levelling Julianna. It’s just doesn’t strike me as playing in the spirit of the game, and is incredibly frustrating after I’ve waited so long for matchmaking.
Do people really just cycle through the day with matchmaking on in the hopes they get a real player invading their level? Or am I imagining it and have just got unlucky with matchups?
