Every time I turn my PS5 back on to play the definitive edition, I find some new gameplay quirk or piece of lore or view that makes me fall deeper in love with everything Kojima productions has done with this world. And the thing is, I’m only 3 chapters in, so I know there’s so much more ahead that’s likely to blow my mind even further. I’m not someone who can afford to play every game on release, but this is a game I would have been happy to pay $60 for on release day. What an incredibly innovative, beautiful, prescient, emotional, campy, and engaging game. I live in Oregon, so this definitely gives me the urge to go hiking and try to recreate some of the shots I’ve done in this game’s photo mode, which I’m absolutely abusing just like I did with the other Decima engine games I’ve played in Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West. I’m fully Kojima-pilled at this point. Now, back to building roads 🫡
