Story progression and the pandemic

Ok so does anyone else think that the pandemic shortened the life of the comic? From what i experienced the comic was on hiatus during the pandemic. For about a year? When i picked up volume 10, there is a time skip. And characters are just filling in the blanks to Marcus’s and the readers. I feel as if these events could of been shown properly if not for the pandemic messing up the production schedule. These events, plus a bit more, could of easily made another volume or 2. Which could/would of been published during that year of the hiatus.

Edit: Regarding the fate of the show, the show ended in 2019. The pandemic lockdowns started in 2020? Currently I’m getting my ideas from a book storyline that was published in 2021. What I’m trying to point out is that the show did end and Rick did have high hopes for it, but there is a pretty lengthy gap. Rick could of put some ideas from the show into the comic to keep it going for literally another volume or 2. Things like properly showcasing the events from the time skip and incorporating Master Lin’s daughter. I don’t think the end of the show could of brought the end of the comic. I think it’s more of the effects of the pandemic.
