So we're lying in bed. I'm (40/m/HL) on my side, facing her. She's (37/f/LL) on her back, staring into her phone - checking emails for work, checking FB, etc.
I rub her arm a bit. She responds by reaching to me with her closest arm and caressing my chest a bit while watching a video. Her eyes never turn toward me.
She tells me she has a splitting headache. But, she's got to get herself moving, because she's got work to do today and has to leave the house in 3 hours for work; she also wants to get a head start on work for tomorrow (her off days are usually Mondays and Saturdays, but something came up today).
I rub her hip order the covers, slide a little closer to her in bed, and slowly wrap my arm around her waist. I caress her stomach with that hand. I kiss her cheek a few times. She still doesn't look at me - eyes glued to the phone. We're just lying here like this for a few minutes.
Then, I say, flirtingly, "It's too bad we can't just stay here in bed together and concentrate on each other." I kiss her on the cheek again.
She replies, in an irritated tone, after sighing deeply, "Babe... I'm bleeding to the point of exhaustion. I just told you I have a splitting headache. Of course I would like to play with you." She puts her hand on her forehead and sighs again. Still, eyes glued to her phone.
(Sidenote: She got an IUD installed a a couple of months ago, and has been having bleeding complications ever since. We've not had sex once since she had it installed, unless you count the one HJ she gave me a few weeks ago.)
I don't move for a few minutes... then, I pull my arm off, and say, "I'm sorry. I recognize all the things you're going through - the medical issues, all the work. I was just being facetious in saying it would be nice if all that stuff wasnt weighing you down, and we could just enjoy each other. I didn't mean to offend you, and I'm sorry."
No response from her, she never looks at me. She gets up, goes to the bathroom and slams the door. After a few minutes in there, she comes out and leaves our bedroom (I assume, to get coffee and get some work done).
Still lying here in bed.
