The same thing can happen when the sighing and passive aggressive body language is the norm rather than direct verbal communication.

Frustration doesn’t give you permission to be an ass. You can still politely decline and explain why now isn’t a good time. The person on the other end of the interaction is your SPOUSE. Being kind should be the default.

She could have expressed all this without the angry sighing and the commentary that expresses disgust toward him. That part was wholly unnecessary and mean spirited.
