40 HLM been together almost 20 years with LLF wife, married for 13. DB for many years now with last time we had sex was in January. I was depressed about it for a year or two and a probably another year of resentment. She is basically now a high maintenance roommate and mother of our kids.
The other night we were unwinding from a long day and joking bout how much work our kids are. We were commenting how we are good with 2 and definitely done. She thenproposed I should look into getting a vasectomy.
It was like a punch to the face. Yeah let me get a vasectomy. Wouldn’t want to risk getting a pregnant the ~1-2 times we hopefully have sex this year. I have nothing against a vasectomy. Just hurt to hear her ask that question so ignorantly.
Extra info: my wife is actually on birth control. She takes that together with another medication to manage a thyroid issue. So never looked at this as an underlying fear of pregnancy. Appreciate all the comments/ideas
