Best birth control options after baby?

My husband and I have long successfully used the pull out method for bc. I was never worried as I was ready to have babies if I happened to get pregnant. I never did except when we were trying. We don't have sex often but I also think it's been lesser sexy when we have to use the pull out method for bc.

Now I'm 40 and preg with baby 3. I don't want any more kids after this one. I've avoided BC meds since I was a teen. I guess I assumed he would get snipped after this baby. Finally, no more having to pull out. I think cumming inside me is sexy and also I'd like to try to one day cum at the same time (we never have). But now he says he doesn't want a vasectomy.

So I'm thinking about taking BC pills after baby. I'm nervous about messing with my body like that. How bad are BC pills? Have they changed a lot in 20 years? How long do I need to take them for? I'm HL, but will they kill my sex drive (maybe not a bad thing tbh)?

I don't want to have my tubes tied given it's a major surgery, but not sure what to do.

Even if I take the pill I feel like my husband will be scared and will pull out anyway. Hoping he will not.
