Hi All - Not sure if anyone who commented on this post of mine a few weeks ago is still here.
This post: The worst worst move - I still don't get why (2) The worst worst move - I still don't get why : Daytrading (reddit.com)
I just wanted to circle back here and thank everyone for the comments and motivation that youve given me. I really appreciate the folks who werent trolling and instead were either bucking me up, or letting me know what I needed to hear "that it has happened, nothing you can do about, take it as a very expensive lesson, keep inventory of your emotions".
Ive bounced back, which Ill share further below, but heres my understanding and process.
1) Id be lying if I say Im over the 50k - I still think about it every day. Although the pain isnt there anymore but its always in the back of my mind every single day since that Ive traded. Even before I click place order on my first trade, that is always lingering somewhere in the back like a ghost.
2) That is good in the sense that im very critical with my decisions now, and Ive noticed improved anticipation, not rushing into trades, being quick to take profits(sometimes too early) but still working through that, but not as risky as before when I lost taht 50k. When I see my idea going opposite, I pick a stoploss and not move it.
3) I was able to pass 3 accounts for a prop firm again, not 1 this time, and trading all 3 together(that adds more pressure, but I dont think about it, trading it as 1).
4) Another thing that has helped my mental is taking my emotional inventory, physical stress, if my day is too hectic not looking for big shots, and aiming lets say 10-20 handles per trade. Even if it goes over my target im not sticking around. That is giving me an opportunity to view my trades EOD and comparing to what I thought was happening and what actually happened.
5) I started journaling again, that 50k I made was the most ive ever made over 13 day stretch, and I recall doing journaling atleast 3 times a week if not 5/5 journal days.
Heres my progress for the past 2 days, after taking a break, and then taking 7 days to pass my accounts. Overall, glad I was able to 1) pass my accounts 2) make profits again and have a buffer. 3) I plan on taking my first payouts this time and not overtrade or let my emotions self sabotage.
Overall and this point 3 accounts combined and 2 days into my paid accounts, im sitting again at 48l(16k on 3 accounts).
