NG+ play through, Survival. Affording ammo for end game guns

Loving my NG so far. Thought I would struggle without HUD & survival vision but I’m really enjoying it so far. Ally only concern is that I like to use BFG, SMP9 & IDF PUP which all cost quite a lot to load up on (even using saddle bags). I’m still at Copeland camp and I didn’t have much credit there. Doing missions doesn’t give that much credit early on. My question is, are you supposed to use earlier game weapons for this scenario? Or did I just not bag enough credits for Copeland camp? I have a shit-tonne at all the other camps if I remember rightly.
