Tharzuz was a much more wary and watchful deity as he spent more time pondering the nature of the world and the other deities he shared it with. This was why when he awoke from one of his slumbers he had noticed the conflict between the God of Plague, Halaphus and Bashtara, The Morning Star. Tharzuz had been angered by Halaphus's destruction of nature through his desolate salt flats and murdering of the marine life that was there beforehand. However, a shining light shown through when he became aware of Bashtara's returning of Halaphus's destruction into life once more. Tharzuz, ever self-important and frankly paranoid of what could come, believed it necessary to involve himself in what had happened in the hopes of stopping such a calamity when Halaphus comes back to take back what he had lost.
