The Minotaurs and Dryads had been fighting over the forest for who knows how long, and things had gotten stale. Azh-nzagh had been a fun puppet for a while, bringing the Minotaur to some sort of unity and allowing them to push back the Dryads, but as they were such an ingrained part of the forest the Minotaur had struggled to make much more progress. And that just would not do.

And so L'zthnyl tinkered and toyed in his cave, before he finally found the concoction he wanted. The Dryads had turned boring, just sitting there and being lazy, and so this should make them have to do something, yes, that sounded good. And thus the Unseen Plague was unleashed upon the world. This plague was named such because it would attack the core of the tree, not visible unless you peeled back the bark of the tree. It would rot the tree from the inside, causing the Dryad to feel in their core that they were sick. What made it most dangerous though, was that if another Dryad came into contact there was a high chance of it spreading. The plague would start in the western side of the deciduous forest, and quickly spread like wildfire through the Dryad population. Once it had secured a series of infected Dryads, L'zthnyl returned to his home and watched. This was, after all, his first plague the mortals would have to best, and what more fun is there than that?
