The formation of cities proved to have mix reactions. Kranos, the Sun Priest of Khasapa proved to be much crueler than one thought, and it drove people away from the surrounding area who listened to his critics. But some were very worried about the idea of a centralized power altogether. These people fled out from the fertile farmlands by the Kega coast and up into the hills closer to the Athala valley to the north to get out from the prying eyes of civilization and to live a peaceful life.
Among these to flee were the priests. News that Kranos was making rounds to nearby mounds and killing the priests to install puppets who were loyal to him were very real and very dangerous. He had a very specific view of the Atòrganì religion that varied from everyone else's views. To oppose this wave of Shà l bher focused religious attitude, groups of priests abandoned their mounds to find the Great Mountain, the place where the gods made their pact and brought an age of peace and prosperity to the world, an age that looked like it might come to an end. Searching for this sacred place could reveal more insight into what the gods want from the world, and could create a powerful opposition to Kranos by using this religious authority.
A large platau separated most of these new lands from the old, life was harder here, without many rivers, the dense forests made easy farming harder, but also provided cover and protection for those running away. Further to the north, the land slopes up again, this is where the most secluded of hermits live and where the priests searching for the Great Mountain are.
I hope this can still be accepted as a week 3 expansion even though it's a couple minutes after the change in weeks.
