As traders came along the mountain edge to the East, it gave the Ra'Shaket more reason to move in that direction. Several tribes began making their yearly migrations directly to the base of those mountains.
Ivory, taken by the brave and foolhardy, was carved intricately and brought to these locations, to be traded for cloth and dyes not found in the sands. Gold, with all it's luster and significance, was shaped into earrings, pendants, and baubles. Now the tribes did not travel purely for the sake of the land, but also made the route of cycle and venture of trade.
There were no other tribes to push out of the hidden oasis's as they expanded. No barter or raiding with other camel riders. None but the Ra'Shaket brave the wastes. Still, in the season of rains, some tribes from the mountain would come down to the edge of the desert along the few rivers and streams that formed, to take advantage of the bloom of life. Where there was space, they traded with the mountaineers, when there was not, the Ra'Shaket took what was theirs, and them as well.
So often, those other people are lost, alone, leaderless and blind as to the path they are walking. If it falls to the Leaders of the Ra'Shaket to lead them, then so be it.
