It had been almost two hundred years since Nubadia died and yet his influence remained strong as ever in Nalari. The few alchemists who were trusted by the Launa with his writings and were able to understand the mysterious and secret vocabulary used by him marvelled at his discoveries and tried to emulate and improve upon his experiments. They would be the first to notice that depending on the influence of the celestial bodies. It was them who went beyond the simple naming of constellations and tracking of the moon and established the effect of these on humans.
They noticed that there were seven celestial planets; Acalei, Nunhu, Nurelu, Madura, Turiani, Delubadia and Atta. Those born in years marked by Acalei were prone to fluctuate like the tides and showed a protective instinct. Those marked by Nunhu were assertive and natural leaders while those born under Nurelu were cunning and had the ability to out-think their peers. Those that were under the influence of Madura were women and men of a passionate nature and had a strong will that could move the world, as long as their desire didn’t swift to another place. Those of Turiani were calm people who weren’t moved by matters of this world, being true only to their own nature that blew like the winds. People under the influence of Nubadia had a tendency towards cold intelligence and elegance, being noted for their manners and beauty. And last, children born under Atta were known to display great nobility and courage and they had a strong sense of justice.
Then came the thirteen animal stars. The first one was Bemona the Fox, which shared Nurelu’s cunning and was known for her cleverness. She was followed by Datu the Cat, an elegant animal marked by Delubadia that was known for its pride and freedom that no human could take. Tadi the Trout was next, with those being born under it known as hard workers who prefered following and being unnoticed to glory and fame. Those marked by Hecousu the Horse were to be compassionate and generous people of great strength. Meanwhile people influenced by Anega the Falcon were renowned as individuals who were in constant need of new experiences or else they would grow bored. They were followed by Gumera the Sparrow, an honest animal that lived in its own outlandish bubble. Afterwards came Gengu the Bull, a strong and obedient animal whose people were prepared to face any challenge with a cold head. The next beast was Bunaci the Snake an ambiguous creature that kept its secrets well hidden and whose true designs couldn’t be known. It was followed by Lau the Wolf who was an intelligent animal with a mind for strategy as were people born under it. Those who were born under the following sign, Dattusu the Lion, were proud people worthy of Nunhu and had a strong personality that worked well with artists and leaders. Next came Lawiccu the Dog, a sign known for its trustowrthiness and unwavering loyalty, as well as its great bravery against any danger. The following animal was Nuni the Salamander, which stood out for its perseverance and resistence to the elements. The last sign was Liretu the Boar and those born under it possessed a wild and untameable nature that could not be suppressed.
After the stars and planets came the months. Bright months were known to give people who felt the influence of their planet more strongly than those born in dark months, who were known to feel more the influence of their star. At the same time, one should take into account first halves and second halves, as those born in the former tended to display an increasingly introvert personality in tune with the new moon that signaled the start of the month, while those born in the second half exhibited an extrovert personality influenced by the full moon that took place in the middle of the month.
The last part of a person’s birth chart were the quarters. It was observed by Nubadia himself that the tides seemed to follow the turns of the moon, which not only gave further insight into the veil between the worlds being thinner during new moon and full moon, coinciding with the most extreme tides, but also helped explain the fluid nature of Acalei. This gave astrologists reason to believe that the tides had an influence in people’s fortunes. High tides during daytime meant good luck, while low tides during day time meant bad luck. This was simple enough, but the matter became more complicated when the tides took place at night, as hight tide during nighttime meant good luck and a strong sensitiveness to the Anin, which meant that children born at that time were more apt for priesthood. However, children born during night’s low tide had both the bad luck and the connection to the Anin, which only meant bad fortune to them and those around them, as they would atract the wrath of the malefic spirits. Thus babies born at that time were often deemed undesirable and left to die in the woods, with parents sometimes going as far as to kill the kids themselves, even though that was a hideous crime condemned by both law and religion.
Ongin calendar and wheel of the zodiac. I know the zodiac wheel shouldn’t end in the third year if we followed the pattern’s logic, as that doesn’t make any sense because you’d be technically missing a Boar, but astrology doesn’t make sense anyway and I have literal thousands of years to slowly perfectionate and correct it.
