100 years ago, brave fishermen sailed to a new lands. This new land didn't have cannibals, an impressive discovery. Cannibals have shaped the Tupain worldview, making the Tupai terrified of any outsiders and forcing them to live in small cities.
Over the 100 years from the adventure, the debate about this new land has grown. On one side the argument is that the Tupai can't leave their homelands, but moving to a place without cannibals would provide safety to Tupai and would allow them to expand outside of their cities (however this probably won't happen because of how Tupain families work).
Finally, all 17 elders from the four Tupain cities gathered in Reem, the source of where the brave men came from to discover the southern lands. They would sit around the firepit in the Longhouse there and discuss what to do. Eventually the debate came down to a board game [M] I don't have all of it planned out so it will remain unamed [/M] between Va-o's youngest child, Pano, who wanted to move (as they were still young enough to make the passage herself) and Fatu, an elder from Lugai, who was the oldest elder.
