Tonight is one of those nights where I listen to an entire Bowie album without meaning to. That album is Earthling and I've definitely listened to it a few times before but right now, I'm appreciating it more than the first few times I listened to it.
I just get really sentimental about Bowie and his art and I get overwhelmed with all these feelings like man, he really gave the world a lot. He might be gone but he sure went out with a bang and I couldn't ask nor expect anything less of Bowie. I just feel like his music is the gift that keeps on giving, I always find a new appreciation for something of his sooner or later and I've never experienced an artist like that before. There have been ones that grew on me after awhile but with Bowie, it feels I keep re-experiencing his art and it always feels so fresh and new.
I know exactly what you mean. There are so many layers to his music, I'm always discovering little things I never noticed before or finding appreciation for things I once glossed over. I am routinely overwhelmed by his mind and what all he gifted us with. A master of his craft and a true artist, for sure.
