Can I switch my saves from a pirated game to a steam one?

I wasn't interested in the game until I saw it on FitGirl and thought I'd give it a shot. 80 hours in, I realize I'm addicted to it. Never have with such a managerial game.
Now I wanna buy it, but I'm wondering if I can switch my saves to the new game normally.
Anyone with such a situation?
